Fill the application form available in the above website. Send a notarised copy of the applicant’s first four pages of the passport. A money order for 5.00 United States dollars (USD) is payable to Bahamas Public Treasury. You must go to a police office and obtain a set of fingerprints to send along with the other documents. Provide a pre-paid return envelope so that they can return the police clearance.

Note: If you need fingerprint checks, you will need to apply in person at the Criminal Records Office, Thompson Boulevard, so that your fingerprints can be scanned on the application and the certificate can be ready on the pick-up date. A passport, driver’s license or voter’s card must be submitted for identification before fingerprints are checked.
You will need to collect your certificate from the same station at which you applied for it. The exception is where a fingerprint check is required. In this case, the certificate will be collected from the Criminal Records Office, Thompson Boulevard.
If someone is collecting the certificate on behalf on your behalf, they must present a valid identification for both themselves and you before the certificate can be issued. (This can include passport, driver’s license or voter’s card).

Depending on your Australian visa application type and your personal circumstances, you may be required to provide a police clearance certificate with your Australian visa application so that the Australian Government can determine whether you are of good character.
If you are required to provide a police clearance certificate, you must obtain the certificates from all the countries you have lived for 12 months or more cumulatively during the last 10 years.
Police clearance certificates are also known as a penal clearance certificate or Certificate of Criminal Record in some countries. Unless otherwise requested by the Department of Home Affairs (www.homeaffairs.gov.au), police clearance certificates are not required for persons under the age of 16 years.
Character requirements for an Australian Visa

As part of your Australian visa application, you might be required to provide a police clearance certificate (from each country where you have stayed for 12 months or more in the last 10 years) or other suitable evidence to satisfy the character requirements.
Under Section 501 of the Migration Act 1958, the Minister for Immigration or the Australian Department of Home Affairs (www.homeaffairs.gov.au) can refuse or cancel your visa, if you do not meet the character requirements.
