Police clearance certificate from Romania
Relevant document: ‘Certificate of Police Clearance’ (Certificat de Cazier Judiciar).
Resident citizens: Apply in person to the Ministry of Interior, General Inspector of Police Convictions Register, at your place of birth or residence.
Non-resident citizens: Apply through an authorised person (notarised power of attorney) to the Ministry of Interior, General Inspector of Police Convictions Register, at your place of birth or residence or submit an application to the nearest Romanian embassy (See a complete listing on website above or apply through the Inspectoratul General al Politiei in Romania).

Resident non-citizens: Apply in person to the county police inspectorate in your county or precinct in your area of residence.
Non-resident non-citizens: You will need to submit an application to the nearest Romanian embassy.
Police certificates may also be obtained by giving notarized power of attorney to a representative in Romania to apply on your behalf.

Processing time: between 10 and 30 days. If the application is the result of an emergency (which should be clearly stated), processing time is approximately three days.
The certificate is valid for six months.
